About Me

Kia ora, I'm Merenia Karetai, the founder of Ashes to Empowerment.

I am a survivor of domestic violence, and my healing journey inspired me to create a space where others know they are not alone. What began as a vision to raise awareness through the Ashes to Empowerment March has grown into a movement focused on healing, hope, and empowerment.

Ashes to Empowerment is built on the belief that healing is more than surviving it's reconnecting with yourself in mind, body, and wairua. Every product is created with intention to support people on their healing journey.

Our range includes healing sprays, massage oils, balms, bath salts, and Hinengaro Healing Sets, each inspired by te taiao, Māori values, and the power of self-care. These products are designed to create moments of calm, restoration, strength, and connection.

My mission is to help survivors reclaim their mana, find their voice, and remember that even after life's darkest moments, we can rise stronger just like the phoenix rising from the ashes.

You are not defined by what happened to you. You are defined by the strength it takes to rise.

Nau mai, haere mai to the Ashes to Empowerment whānau. Together, we heal. Together, we rise.
